BORDER TERRIER NEUTER CONTRACT
FOR COMPANION DOG SALES
DOGWOOD KENNELS
The seller guarantees this dog to be in good health at the time of sale.
The purchaser agrees to take this dog to a licensed veterinarian of his choice within seven (7) days for a health check.  Should the dog be determined to be in ill health, the cause of which is clearly attributable to the seller, the dog may, upon presentation of a written diagnosis from said veterinarian, be returned for refund of purcase price or for another dog of equal value.  The choice, of which, will be determined by the seller.  Any veterinarian's diagnosis shall be subject to confirmation by a veterinarian chosen by the seller.  Should said veterinarian not concur with the diagnosis, the matter shall be presented to a third veterinarian mutually agreed upon by the seller and the purchaser.
The dog will reside with the owner, who assumes all financial responsibility for care of the dog, including but not limited to, food, medical care, licensing, AKC Registration transfer fees, and micro-chip registration at www.microchipIDsystems.com/register (Microchip ID systems).
If this dog must be placed in a new home at any time during it's life, the seller reserves the right to take back or to approve any home the owner has found for the dog.  Any monetary refund will depend on the circumstances of the return.  This dog is not to be given or sold to any establishment dealing in animals, including but not limited to humane societies, dog pounds, pet shops, or research facilities.  If this dog is placed in a new home, with the sellers approval, the new owner's name, address, and phone number must be given to the seller.
This dog is sold on an AKC Limited Registration and is to be neutered (castrated or spayed) no later than one (1) year from purchase date.  In no way is this dog to be bred under AKC rules or any other registry.  Seller will register and name the dog using the kennel prefix "Dogwood" at the beginning of this dog's registered name. Seller will hold AKC registration until written evidence of neutering is provided. Any violatioin of the terms of this agreement will result in a fine of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) due to the seller within ten (10) days of determination of such failure.  The laws of the state of Michigan apply to this contract.
